The Convenience Of A Modern Pair Of Spectacles
Surgical options seem as though they should be the last course of action, rather than the first. The most popular painless option involves shaving material off the front of the cornea, and although the technology is getting better there are still no long terms studies to see how this will affect people in twenty or thirty years. Plus its an irreversible process, there are far too many horror stories on forums for me to go that route.
The major problem that I found wearing glasses was that I couldnt use sunglasses and see properly on holiday, now with prescription sunglasses and tints on lenses thats not a problem at all. If I want to get a stylish pair of oakley sunglasses I can do so and not for a bad price either. Its no longer an issue to get prescription lenses for designer frames, and each can be tailored to your preferences with a number of options on lens coating.
So I dont buy the marketing hype that its inconvenient to wear glasses. If you doubt this, ask anyone without sight issues you see wearing sunglasses why they dont just ditch their ray ban wayfarer shades any time soon. The mythical inconvenience of having to carry and wear a pair of sunglasses somehow escapes the stigma attached to other sets. The sunglasses market isnt one contact lenses are going to make inroads on either, without making you look like some black-eyed monster thats stepped out of a horror film.
