Not really a particularly useful timepiece for the job of flying. Really, all you need is a clear and bold GMT/UTC/Zulu dial and hand, date, lume, and a robust movement and case. I recommend the Rolex GMT II/Explorer II or the Grand Seiko SBGE001 (I prefer the GS with its bezel lume). There’s loads of other instruments in virtually any cockpit spewing data, you don’t need an E6B on your wrist. However, if you want to tell the world that YOU JUST GOT YOUR PILOT LICENSE, this is the watch to have.

Bach’s Goldberg variations in the background???!! Winning, fine watches fine music…. although at this stage I am only the owner of an Omega and a Tag…. Considering Breitling for my next purchases… thoughts anyone? It’s that or Rolex…(lower end Rolex’s Yatchmaster II….in a dream only).

@fqwarrior That means it lets you read the hour in terms of fractions of 100 as opposed to fractions of 60, which would be what a standard minute is.. 1/60 of an hour. Instead you can also read 1/100 of an hour.
