Striking Blue hands a little blacker…..,
This is a nice, clean-looking watch, with classic Roman numeral hours but what looked to be a striking blue for the hands only appears at a certain angle and in a certain light. For much of the time, they appear black, which whilst not necessarily being a bad thing, was not what I envisaged.
Another small quibble is the narrow date window. It looks fine when in single numbers but looks cramped and busy when in double. The real leather strap is of good quality but the holes are a little too far apart to position ideally. At the moment, I have it slightly too tight, which will, no doubt, loosen slightly and as the leather breathes, become more comfortable all round.
I was also a little surprised as to the quite drastic action needed to ‘unscrew’ the crown in order to initially set the time and date. It hardly inspired confidence but once done, is OK.
Plus sides are it is a respected and renowned Rotary, has an easy to register online three year warranty which extends to lifetime as long as email reminding servicing by Rotary from thereon is undertaken. The design is both modern and classic, attractively uncluttered and having worn it for two weeks now, is my comfortable, daily timepiece and (as you would expect) keeps perfect time.
