During the time of year when summer has loosened its grip and autumn has taken over, a stylish sweater is a tough piece of your attire to beat. Wearing white after Labor Day is no longer illegal in the world of men’s fashion, so take advantage of this new tolerance and wear something light in tone. As the winter months wear on, accent the sweater with a tasteful scarf that matches or complements your top. Plaid shirts with long sleeves and a button down front are a tried and true article of clothing that will look great on you for the night out. These shirts enjoy year round acceptance, so simply roll up the sleeves when the weather is warm.
When it comes to pants that go with a large number of tops, jeans are always a safe choice. The problem is, they are almost too common. A pair of khakis or clean, lighter shaded slacks is more eye-catching. As the winter presses in, it is probably better to wear darker pants than those of lighter shades. Flat-front slacks are a more favorable option to pleated ones. After all, you are out for a night of relaxing, not in an office for a job interview. A man can’t go wrong with a brown or black belt to keep the pants in place, unless of course he wears black when he should be wearing brown.
Loafers are always a safe bet to complete your ensemble. They go great with a number of combinations, but can be a bit uncomfortable. Thankfully, men’s fashion trends now include sneakers. Of particular popularity are black leather sneakers. They don’t clash with much of anything and the leather construction is durable, providing at least two years of foot comfort. They are great because you don’t have to spend any brain power on what to put on your feet.
Fashionable men’s clothing for a night out is not difficult to find. It is usually casual and comfortable and perfectly fine to combine the two. As long as you’re not slumming it, you should get some looks while you enjoy the evening.
