In 1875, a twenty-three year old man by the name of Joseph Bulova migrated from Bohemia to New York City. Joseph went on to open his first tiny jewelry shop. The next device by Bulova, the Caravelle, was deemed the largest selling jeweled movements watch by the United States in 1968.

In 1987, Bulova became the official supplier of timing devices to the United States Olympic Team. The watches were provided for both the summer games in Seoul and the winter games in Calgary. By 1995, Bulova was continuing their expansion across the world with a distribution agreement in South America. Licenses were also extended to Europe and the Far East.

The 125th anniversary of the Bulova Company was celebrated in 2000 with Mayor Rudolph Giuliani. In 2001, Bulova obtained the Wittnauer trademark and the Harley-Davidson timepiece license. Also in 2001, Bulova ranked number 14 by women who were asked what brand they thought had the most luxurious apparel and accessories.

Assets of Heirloom were obtained by Bulova in 2002. Also during this time, the United States, Mexico and Canada, were buying grandfather clocks. Meanwhile, in Europe, Bulova set up headquarters in Bienne, Switzerland. From there, the Bulova European Collection was produced. The line became available on January 1, 2003.

In conclusion, Bulova watches have continually proven to be reliable and fashionable. The mens watches have been very useful to many people since their debut and do not appear be disappearing any time soon.
