Many folks are worried about the supportability of the lives we live. As a species, we human beings are consuming resources at a much more rapid rate than the plant can support. We are spoiling the seas thru fishing too much and permitting pollution to spoil the seas. We are slicing down valuable mangrove swamps, the nurseries of the ocean’s fish, and dynamiting coral reefs.
On land we are using more insecticides and fertilizers than is wise. Soil from dangerous farming practises is lost to erosion, reducing the fertility of our farms. And the air we breath and the food we eat has been poisoned by thousands of different forms of chemicals that all mix together in our bodies in ways in which we don't even begin to understand. As a result of these fears many folks are attempting to band together for change.
Many are also trying to make small changes at home and in their own lives. Lots of the changes we will be able to make are simple yet can have a significant impact on health. In our house for example we have switched wherever possible (and cost-effective) to organic plants and fruit. That way I know I am supporting more sustainable farming techniques. I'm also warranted that my youngsters are avoiding exposure to harmful chemicals and insecticides while getting their daily fill of healthful organic vitamins.
Other easy changes that we’ve made have including switching to organic produce in the toilet. Our kids just like their new organic youngsters toothpaste and I also truly like the taste and sense of mine. I am making an attempt to do the same with organic kids shampoo. In fact , whenever possible I am trying to switch to more natural products that have fewer unusual chemicals in them.
Some of the other changes we are instituting including making an attempt to save energy. This should cut down our monthly expenses and also help the planet. Since turning down the thermostat a bit this past winter I've revealed that I have very quickly adapted to the cold and now feel overheated in numerous peoples homes.
